Highlights

Validated imaging biomarkers as decision-making tools in clinical trials and routine practice

This article is a joint effort of the European Imaging Biomarkers ALLiance (EIBALL) and European Society of Radiology (ESR). It reviews the present evidence for the use of biomarkers in clinical settings at various stages of the disease pathway, critically evaluates current practice, and sets out recommendations for using imaging in patient management decision-making.
