(Non)-Visualisation of the cavum septi pellucidi
Cavum septi pellucidi (CSP) is an indicator for normal central forebrain development of the fetal brain and the visualisation of CSP reassures this development. The non-visualisation of the CSP on prenatal ultrasound is associated with neuroanatomical anomalies such as agenesis of the corpus callosum, schizencephaly and acquired fetal brain injury, amongst others.
